🩷 SEEKING actors for an in person readthrough/workshop of my new screenplay “Stupid Cupid” in NYC 🩷

“Stupid Cupid” is a fantasy realism comedy which follows Diana, a skeptic about all things love and romance, who gets visited by Cupid who tells her that she must go on a date with all her soulmates in order to save true love from disappearing forever.

I wrote this script from not feeling like the modern dating struggle of finding someone vs being happy being alone has been represented well. Specifically the experience of being a woman feeling the pressure to settle and find love and how messy that gets the longer it goes and you start to realize how great it feels to be alone — its something when I wrote the first draft a year ago I thought I was screaming into the void about but the more I talk to people, the more I realize everyone can relate to this and I hope as I get the story out it makes others know they’re not alone. Which is all art is meant to do.

A modern retelling of the Greek myth Cupid vs Diana, Stupid Cupid is a story of true love, self love and everything in between. 🤍
