When it comes to hotels, I am picky. Surprisingly picky, really, considering how lax I am about the rest of my trip but there’s something about picking the right place to stay that means a lot to me. It sets the tone of the trip. I also think there’s a part of me that always wanted to live in a hotel, Eloise at the Plaza style and watch different tourists from all over the world stay in a temporary oasis away from home. Because I believe that’s what a hotel should be, an oasis. Of course, I fully recognize I’m barely going to be there so I don’t like to spend a ton of money on the hotel but at the same time, I need quality, I expect good service, I like good aesthetic and Bespoke Inn Scottsdale had all that and more.
Upon arriving in the hotel, Bespoke Inn already went above and beyond with its concierge service. Not only was I allowed to check in my room several hours before any normal check in time. (Which was my own fault, as mentioned in this post.) But the rooms itself had the right balance of vintage charm and comfortable luxury that you expect at a bed n breakfast.
The most surprising thing about this hotel is no one seemed to know about it! The mysterious Bondgirl in me loves a good secret and reveled in every cab driver that dropped me off say that “they’d never heard of this place before!” But despite wanting to keep the place all to myself, it was so good for a solo traveler looking for an escape or a couple looking for a romantic quiet getaway that I had to share the find.
- A HUGE infinity pool that stayed a comfortable cool temperature the whole time during my visit.
- Walking distance (no really, less than a three minute walk!) to tons of amazing shops, restaurants, bars and museums.
- Quiet – despite being super close to all the excitement of the city and with a restaurant downstairs, I never heard anything once I was in bed in my room.
- Old fashioned bikes available during your whole stay if you want to give yourself a major main character moment.
- Attention to detail EVERYWHERE! From the carefully crafted chalk board to make finding the wifi password easy to colorful flowers scattered across the grounds, a lot of thought and care went into making this place both home away from home cozy and aesthetically beautiful.
- Lastly, and this might be a negative for some people but there was a sweet calico cat that you can find sunbathing all over the grounds in the morning. Also a dog (belonging to I believe the owner) was often was there too if you’re a dog person, all furry friends are represented.
- No room service – They did offer a very lovely but prix frixe restaurant with limited hours downstairs. I didn’t eat there so I can’t speak to that. But it was easy to use a food delivery app to get food brought to my room or walk to one of the hundreds of places to eat that were nearby.
- In addition to the restaurant, one night I got home late and there were quite a few diners still enjoying their meals, a bit awkward needing to stumble back to my room after a few glasses of wine under the eyes of people enjoying their meal so I wouldn’t say this is a good hotel for anyone looking to drink a lot and then go back to their room late.
